If you got to Iasi and you want to get away from the noise and rhythm of the city, the best place to do that is the Botanical Garden. It is sufficiently large (80 ha), being one of the largest gardens in the country, that you can spend a few hours here.

It was open in 1856 by the the naturalist and physician Anastasius Fatu, becoming the first Botanical Garden in Romania.

The alleys will slowly take you through the 10 sectors that the garden has. The rosary has over 600 species of roses waiting to get you drunk in their beauty and fragrance and the 11 greenhouse are waiting for you to discover plants from around the world.

Her beauty captivates you in every season but if you get here during the Autumn flowers festival you are in for a royal treat. Hundreds of chrysanthemums dot the garden and in the specially designed greenhouse the show is complete.

During the hot summer days the cool alleys offer a good way relax.

My words are not enough so I invite you to see the garden through my camera.

How do you get there?

Easy the garden is located on Copou Hill, behind the Exhibition Park. You can come either by car or tram.
